Footbe started in 2012 as a side project — a small team of football enthusiasts who believed data could make sense of the beautiful game. Two years of building later, the desktop app launched publicly in 2014.

The concept was simple: use player ratings, real starting lineups, and statistical models to find value — not gut feelings. No affiliate noise, no fake tipsters. Just honest data, updated before every kickoff.

In 2020, we brought Footbe to mobile — iOS and Android — with lineup-aware push notifications and match analysis on the go. The platform kept evolving, the models got sharper, and the community around it became something we're genuinely proud of.

Why we're closing

Footbe was always a labour of love. A team of 2–3 people built and maintained everything — the prediction engine, the apps, the website, the data pipelines — in our spare time, alongside day jobs and life.

While Footbe was a paid service, it never turned a profit. Every update, every new league, every model improvement was fuelled purely by enthusiasm for the game and the craft. We never received outside funding or investment — it was always self-sustained, and honestly, self-funded.

Over time, the reality caught up. Maintaining a quality analytics platform takes serious time and resources — keeping data feeds running, models accurate, apps updated, and users supported. We reached a point where we simply can't give Footbe the attention it deserves.

So we made the difficult decision to shut it down. It wasn't easy — but it was the right call.

Timeline

The journey

2012

Development begins. The team starts building the prediction engine, drawing on football data going back to 2010.

2014

Footbe launches as a free desktop app. Nine European leagues, player-rating-based predictions, and value betting recommendations from day one.

2016

The community grows. The footbe.net forum becomes an active hub for football analytics discussion across Europe.

2020

Footbe goes mobile. iOS and Android apps launch with lineup-aware push notifications and 5-tab match analysis.

2022

Coverage expands to 15+ leagues. Prediction models refined with over a decade of accumulated match data and performance history.

2026

Final whistle. After 12 years, Footbe closes its doors.

An intuitive way of creating tickets based on your preferences and our suggestions in 3 simple steps. Choose ticket type, leagues, period, and bookmakers — automating ticket creation to save you time.
