After 4 rounds, OL are occupying the 5th place with 7 points. They've snatched 2 away wins over Guingamp (1-0) and Caen (4-0). Lyon is still looking for a win at home, as they conceded a draw against Lorient. Then they lost to Rennes away (2-1).
Angers hosts Nice for the 4th round of Ligue 1. Over the last 5-6 years Angers was finishing at the top of the Ligue 2 table, but kept failing to secure promotion to the top division. Until now. Angers features in the top flight of French football and they started quite confidently, by notching two wins (2-0 away at Montpellier, same score away against Gazelec Ajaccio) and a draw (0-0 at home vs Nantes) so far. Their last time in Ligue 1 dates back in the distant 1994. Besides Angers, the only unbeaten team this season so far is the defending champion PSG as well as Nantes.
Montpellier finished 7th last season in Ligue 1 and their 1st league match this season will be at home against newly promoted Angers. Angers managed to secure promotion literally in the final round with a major victory over Nîmes at home. This will be the 1st time Angers will appear in Ligue 1 since the distant 1994. Prior to this success, Angers was consistently at the top half of Ligue 2 table for the past 5-6 years, but kept failing to win promotion. Moulin Stephane, who is at the helm of Angers since 2011, it's actually his first team as head coach; prior to that, he worked with reserve staff. Jonathan Koca, who was one the best Ligue 2 strikers last season, left Angers and moved to Bristol City.
