Vorskla Poltava hosts Metalist Kharkiv for the 6th round of Ukrainian Premier League. In the previous round, Poltava unexpectedly lost 2 points in Zaporizhzhya after a 1-1 draw against Metallurg. Metalist Kharkiv on the other hand, managed to get away with the draw at home against Hoverla despite trailing 0-2. Both teams played in the Cup of Ukraine last week. Oleksandr Sevidov's team failed to secure a win over IFC Nikolaev. Basil Sachko's side defeated Chernigov Desna on penalties.
For the 4th round of Ukrainian Premier, Dnipro will host the defending champions Dynamo Kiev. The team of Miron Markevich didn't enjoy the best start in the new season. They lost points in Uzhgorod (1-1 vs Goverla), then earned a strong-willed victory over Chornomorets 4-2 before getting a draw drew against Vorskla (1-1). Yevgen Konoplyanka is no longer at Dnepr as he recently moved to Sevilla. Mateus has been brought back to the first team, but he has yet to score.
Hoverla are still experiencing financial problems, a few key players from last season left, but they have a very experienced head coach. Karpaty changed their squad significantly & they've got a new head coach. Footbe likes the chance of a Hoverla win (51%) & the high 4+ odds (Marathon).
Dynamo Kiev are set to travel to FC Metalurh Donetsk to try and push up the table to catch up to Dnipro and Shaktar at the top of the Ukrainian Premier League. In their last 5 league games, they have won twice, drawn twice and lost one, so they really need to defeat Metalurg in order to still chase Dnipro in 2nd place.
As for Metalurg, they are sat in 8th place and a win against Kiev would move them to 6th place if Poltava and Zorya both lose their games, so it's all to play for in this tie, however Metalurg look the most likely to win.
