Week 30: -28.4%

Week #30 was by far our worst week this season. With the exception of Russian Premier, Premier League and Ukrainian Premier, all other leagues were negative. The final result for week #30 is -16.7 points / -28.4% ROI.

After 30 weeks, we are at +135 points / +193% in terms of ROI based on 70 max recommendations per round.

Week 30

This was an unlucky week though. We had 6 recommendations that failed in stoppage time, which could have earned us 15.7 points. Derby v Birmingham was 2-0 until 90+3, but the visitors managed to score 2 goals before the final whistle (Recommendation: 1). Hellas Verona equalized at 90+5 to get away with the draw at San Siro (Recommendation: 1). Getafe snatched the away win over Cordoba by scoring at 90+2 (Recommendation: X). Heracles equalized at 90+4 against Vitesse (Recommendation: 2). Bordeax scored at 90+5 to steal the away win over Caen (Recommendation: X). Blackburn scored at 90+4 at home over Bolton (Recommendation: X). On the other hand, there was no recommendation won in the last minutes.

  • Russian Premier at +4.73 points / +59% (6 out of 8 won); hightlight of the week: the away win of Krasnodar over Spartak Moscow (3.35 at Marathon)
  • Ukrainian Premier at +1.70 points / -170% (single recommendation won)
  • Premier League at +0.85 points / +85% (single recommendation won)
  • Champions League at -1.00 points / -100% (single recommendation lost)
  • Eredivisie at -1.07 points / -36% (1 out of 3 won)
  • Ligue 1 at -2.70 points / -34% (2 out of 8 won)
  • Primeira Liga at -2.73 points / -46% (1 out of 6 won)
  • Bundesliga at -3.17 points / -53% (1 out of 6 won)
  • Championship at -3.56 points / -32% (3 out of 11 won)
  • Serie A at -4.10 points / -68% (1 out of 6 won)
  • La Liga at -5.67 points / -71% (1 out of 8 won)

There seems to be a pattern for our bad months (November and March), even though we need more than 2 seasons to get to a conclusion. However, we believe the main reasons our recommendations are failing during these months are related to the players' physical condition and morale. We're already investigating about possible ways of assessing these factors into our prediction models.
